Tuesdays Treasures
Today's treasure consists of three things , the two little wooden horses pulling a sleigh on the right and a wagon on the left were hand carved by my Dad when he was about 80 ,I have lost track when he actually gave them to me but the first one I received was the little chocolate colored horse with the green and red sleigh , then a year or so later he made the second one with a wagon just like he used to haul coal as a very young man to help out his family . They both mean so very much to me as my Dad always had horses when we were young and these to me represent him and he is extra special to me , he is 90 now and still driving and doing just fine but his days of working and training horses are over although he still loves to attend the races . The picture above the horses was drawn by my brother , he is a talented artist and years ago when he was visiting us we gave him a crate of apples , this was early in the fall and for Christmas that year he gave them back to us in the form of this painting .We love it ! I hope you enjoy my treasures for today and if you care to see even more incredible treasures be sure to drop on over to visit Clare and she is sure to tell you who is taking part this week . Thanks for stopping by and hope your Tuesday is a real treasure .

A New project
I have been a bad girl and started a new project instead of concentrating on the Row by Row quilt but I just couldn't help myself when I seen this pattern , I just had to make it , you know the feeling ;-) I love the fall colors so that is one reason this wall hanging appealed to me and it also meant using more of those scraps , ah now I feel better . I still have a couple of more borders to add so a little more to go yet but the stitching in the center block is completed and that is the bulk of the work done . So far I am pleased with the result and it was a fun project and will look great in my hall entry for the fall season .I neglected to tell you who the designer is of this great pattern ,it is a Bobbie G Design and is simply Fall Quilt #Q515 by Barbara Smith . Have a great day and thanks for stopping by .

Crazy Quilting Friday
I know I am a little early with this post as it is still Thursday here but I 'm going on a little day trip tomorrow so thought I best get this on tonight. I can see the light was not the best and has thrown off the colors a bit . I tried a curved seam in this one and it turned out not bad at all . Tomorrow should be fun as some friends and I are heading to a fabric shop , oh we will be touching and feeling lots of pretty fabrics and I am sure I will come home with a few treasures as well . I don't get to this shop very often so I'm really looking forward to the day out . Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by .

Wednesdays Flowers
I just never seem to be home long enough to get much stitching of any kind done these days but the weather has cooled down some now so I am sure that will all change shortly. Hope you are all having a great gardening day . To see more blooms head on over to visit Karen ,she will have a list of those with their flowers for this week .

It's finished
Crazy quilting Friday
This is my crazy quilt block for this week , I used the printed muslin that Betsy sent to make this block , it sure makes the job easier .I know I need to add some decorative stitches but I was late getting this made and time ran out so that will be done later .
The second picture is the result of finding some half square triangles that I came across in my sewing storage closet
,you just never know what you will find in there ;-0 Anyway I remember making these as I cut the corners off blocks I was making for a quilt some time ago and rather than toss the triangles I immediately made the halfsquare triangles but then they have sat there for a few years until yesterday I was looking for a piece of fabric and these appeared so I went to work and sewed them together and added these borders and now I have a doll quilt top for one of my granddaughters .If I was real quick I could give it to Elise tomorrow as it is her birthday , hmm maybe if I work fast I can get this completed .I better go and get started ;-)
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by .

Wednesdays Flowers
This week I have used some fabrics that were given to me by my aunt who has since passed away . Aunt Mammie as we called her was an avid sewer and made lots and lots of aprons as well as dolls galore for the church sales and these fabrics would all have been used for that purpose . I did already make a quilt using some of her fabrics and gave it to my parents a few years back but made sure that my aunt got to see it before she left us and she was thrilled that her scraps had a new life in a quilt , I used the nine patch along with the snowball block if my memory is correct and I because most fabrics were like these small calico prints with flowers I named it Mammies Garden , I must see if I have a picture of that somewhere to share it with you . My aunt was a very special lady and I am thinking I will make a few more with her fabrics and make something special from just those hexies to remind me of her . Happy gardening everyone and thanks for stopping by.

UFO'S
I really would not want to guess just how old these projects are ,
It has to be at least 8 years but my guess is more like 10years . I came across the little paper pieced log cabin blocks in my closet and can't quite remember what I had made them for but decided they would make great little pincushions so , after sitting for all those years it probably took me no more than 30minutes to put a back on each , stuff them and sew the opening closed .This gives me my first finishes for Aug. I know they hardly count they are so small but hey they are finished ;-)
