Do you ever come across fabric when you are searching for something and then and there decide to make something with the fabric in your hand ? Well that is what happened to me , I was actually looking for green fabric for the houses when I came across this sweet little summer print and it just spoke to me to make a sundress for my granddaughter . This is a simple little pattern with button closure at the shoulders ,a McCall's 3104, I have had the pattern for a while but this is the first time I have made it , I think I will be making it again , really cute. Oh I added some vintage fabric to the bottom as well as some vintage rickrack that I had bought at a flea market in Saskatoon , perfect for it !I should also share a little tip I used to sew on the rickrack , I hate pinning it on as it moves around and I can never get it even so I used my lapel stick (glue stick ) , worked like a charm , no movement and on their nice and straight.
I think it will be cute as a sundress but would also look cute with a t-shirt under it ,now I have to hope it fits , it does look large .
I did find the green fabric as well and therefore my little village has grown by two , one dark green house and one rather funky house in a pale green with pink .
I think I'd like to live in the funky one it looks like more fun :-) Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a really Happy Easter and that the Bunny comes hopping by with some goodies for you .
hugs Sheila

How many houses in your village now?
The dress is gorgeous. So cool & summery. Great idea about gluing ric rac. I have the same issues as you do with ric rac. Love the houses. Hugs,

ReplyDeletecute dress. I always prefer children's clothing to be larger rather than smaller, that way they can grow into them and get more wear. I'm sure the dress will fit just fine.
