Tuesdays Treasures

It is Tuesday again so I want to join in with Melody of the House on the Side of the Hill for another week of fun . Today I am sharing these vintage kitchen utensils , maybe I shouldn't use the word vintage as I do remember very well using these egg beaters as we called them ,ok so I am that old ;-)  My Mom would have us beat up the eggs or the cream or even at times the frosting for cakes and we loved that job .The old rolling pins I love , some were Bill's grandmothers and others we bought at either yard sales or auctions ,I just like the look of them .
I love to collect old kitchen  utensils ,maybe as a reminder that life is much easier today than it was for our mothers or grandmothers ,aren't these biscuit cutters cute with there painted handles , these I still use occasionally as they are a perfect size . You see besides sewing I do love to cook , mostly bake and when my three sons were still at home I baked a lot but with just hubby and myself I seldom do much of that anymore and maybe that is a good thing ;-0 Have a super nice Tuesday and be sure to head on over to visit Melody and see who else is playing along . hugs Sheila

  1. Hi Sheila,
I always love the treasures you so kindly share on a Tuesday. These old kitchen bits and pieces are charming and I think part of their appeal is they remind us of a time when the pace of life was slower and little things, like a home baked cake, brought so much joy.

  4. I love your vintage untenstils! I have some very similar pieces that I remember using as a younger person too. The cookie cutter is really neat. My mother just recently gave me her mothers! I love it!

  6. I love vintage kitchen utensils - they are great! My rolling pin looks like yours do and I still have my very first rolling pin from when I baked as a child - it's very small but I love it still. Also love those egg whiskers, I would love one of those - and I bet they come in really handy :0)

  7. What lovely treasures.
I love these vintage utensils and I remember my great grandmother had an old egg beater like your green handled one. I tried for years to purchase one but they were always out of my price range. I found one last year and managed to get it for $8. I was elated.
I have never seen buscuit cutters like these before.
Thanks for sharing these with us, they are delightful.

  8. I use an egg beater like yours when I make scrambled eggs. I think it does better than "modern" alternatives. :-)
