Another apron

When I started the vintage apron I was looking through my stash and came across a couple of pieces of reproduction prints but there was only 1meter of each which was not enough for the vintage pattern but was just enough for this pattern called Four Corners Apron by Vanilla House Designs, I have made a few of these before and they are really quite neat and simple to make so since I was in the apron sewing mood ;- ) I decided to go ahead and cut it out and voila , here it is . I added the rickrack as the accent fabric was a little too close in color and just sort of melted into the apron front , this I think helped plus I just like rick rack , I have a few packages from my aunt some with a price tag of just $.25 so I really like to use it when ever I can .Aunt Mary made a lot of aprons in her life time , most for the church tea and sales . She also made some adorable cloth dolls for those sales and I am fortunate to have two of them in my possession .Hope you are having a nice day .

  2. That is an absolutely adorable apron, Sheila, and I love the fabrics! So vintage-looking. And you are right...that green rick-rack adds just the right amount of contrast to the border. I love it! One of these days I'm going to try to make an apron, too. Putting that on the list with my quilt! LOL!!!
