Welcome Spring

It is wonderful to know spring has arrived and soon things will start to get green and colorful after a dull winter . I decided to make a little wall hanging to celebrate the season and brighten up our little home . This was a fun project I did after winning this great pattern at our guild when we had Darlene D'eon come as a guest speaker and I was lucky enough to win a door prize .

I have also gone down the rabbit hole of slow stitching lately and made another Japanese rice bag and made some hexies for the sides which I enjoyed doing . It had been a very long time since making those . I did some shadow stitching around them which brings out the shape nicely .

Thanks for taking the time to stop by i will try to get back sooner but no guarantees 😉

A little catch up

It's been awhile I know but i thought I would give this another whirl.  I hope everyone is doing well and stitching up lots of beautiful creations . I had to take a little stitching break due to a compression fracture in my spine but I'm starting to heal and getting back to sewing , not quite as much as I'd like but anything is a good start .
I have several projects on the go , two baby quilts , both just tops and a top I just completed that is meant for a stitch along with our guild but I got carried away . The quilt is called Be My Neighbor by Pat Sloan and Moda and was fun to make .

I'm hoping to hand quilt this with my Tuesday group at the church when we have an opening .I won't share the baby quilts just yet they are a secret.

I had a devil of a time even signing into my blog so hopefully this will actually post . Thanks for reading  and hope to be back soon .

Not quite finished

I'm not quite finished but we had to share anyway . This quilt was started early on in the pandemic when I joined a group on FB called the Pfearless Corona Fighters on a Quilters Mission hosted by the talented international quilter Claudia Pfeil of Germany.  This project is so much out of my comfort zone but I decided to leap in anyway with the hopes of learning something new . Well it certainly accomplished that and much more , it filled some stressful times with a fun project , well mostly fun lol . When it came time to quilt it I was rather nervous of that task as my skill level and experience in FM is pretty much NIL but I figured it was the best way to learn.
We have an old barn on our property which I thought would be a perfect backdrop for this colourful quilt . As I stated in the title of this post it isn't quite finished since Claudia is going to teach us to do a facing finish which means the green border you see will be folded to the back . Well we shall see how that goes and I can always opt to just bind it .
So what have you been doing to help cope with this situation . Thankfully our province has not had any new cases in a week now , that's a big deal to me and I pray it continues that way . Stay safe everyone and I'll try to drop in again soon .

Yes I'm still here

Hello fellow bloggers , it's been a very long time since I have posted and I'm sure many have given up on me long ago but that's okay , I understand fully.
First off I will give you a quick report on Bill , it was a tough go to say the least and 33 radiation treatments took their toll on him and basically he is still recovering . He lost over 65 lbs which is a lot for a man who wasn't that big to begin with so it's been a challenge to now try to regain some of that weight . His energy level has improved but it isn't what it use to be and he requires a lot of rest . Otherwise he is doing fairly well and his visits for checkups have gone well .
Since his treatments we have moved which took its toll on both of us and I'm still trying to recover from that , did I ever tell you I hate moving , well let it be known, I do Hate it !
I had not done any sewing from January last year until probably late September or early October,  I just didn't have the desire nor the energy to do so . I did get busy and made a few Christmas gifts and since that time have settled back into my groove of creating when time allows . So what have I created you may ask. Well I did complete the Moda Blockheads quilt from last year or was it the year before . It was being hand quilted until this pandemic arrived and so it sits in the church awaiting our return .
I also did a QAL of a scrappy block and here is my result . This was hosted by Darlene D'eon of Darlene's Designs

As you all know the world is in a pandemic , at times it feels like a bad horror movie , one I would definetly turn off , but here we are smack dab in the middle of it and the only thing we can do is do as the health authorities tell us and Stay the blazes home where we are safe and when we do go out which is not often to take all the necessary precautions,  wearing masks and washing our hand frequently and oh ,no touching our face.  It's a scary time for sure but I try to keep busy sewing to maintain my sanity and I hope you too are able to keep busy creating in whatever fashion makes you happy .
Stay safe and be well.  Hugs

More distractions

Tonight I shared a collection of fabric postcards I have received over a number of years through exchanges . The ladies staying at the Lodge along with one gentleman came to view them and were all quite impressed with these little pieces of art . None of them had even heard of these fabric postcards and were shocked that they had come through the mail in this manner . I also took a few minutes to explain how they are constructed and you just never know maybe someone else will catch this bug lol .
When you are staying here going through treatments simple little activities like this help pass the time as well as distract from the reason they are here . It felt good to give them a reason to smile .
 Thanks for stopping by .

Little distractions

Have you ever heard of prayer flags ? Well apparently they are seen everywhere in Tibet or other countries where Buddhism is common . I took a little workshop recently a Healing Arts Program and we made these prayer flags .
These are the traditional colours,  yellow represents earth ; green / water ; red/ fire ; white /air and blue for spirit or space . They are a simple construction of rectangles of fabric each with a prayer or quote and of course you could decorate them as much or as little as you wish . Due to time restraints we simply wrote a quote on each and did a running stitch on a piece of ribbon to hold them all together . Making them and allowing the messages to sink into my somewhat overwhelmed brain gave me a sense of peace. They will hang outside our home until nature decides to take them away along with the messages they each contain . I have made more elaborate prayer flags for an exchange years ago but these simple flags will also bring messages of hope , love and faith into the universe.
This journey we are on is challenging to say the least and things are very uncomfortable for Bill now and of course that also affects me . Please pray for us both . Thank you .
 Blessings Sheila

Life has taken another turn

Since i last posted in January our life has dramatically changed.  Bill was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his neck and also at the back of his tongue . After many appointments he had surgery on February 28th to remove all the visible cancer cells . On march 4th we returned home with me driving in a bad storm , i hate driving in bad weather but you do whst you have to do. The next day our friend plowed us out and i asked him if he would mind turning the vehicles for me . Both vehicles are large and those who know our driveway  would understand why i asked . Well it turned out that was a really great request as just as iwas about to serve supper Bill was washing up when i heard him say "oh no" , i knew almost immediately what was happening so i ran iinto the bathroom where Bill was hemmoraging . I called 911and as is their policy they started asking questions.  I decided i didn't have time to answer nor did we have time for them to get there so i told them i was taking him myself . They said so you are ending this call , yes i replied and hung up . As quickly as possible i got Bill out to the vehicle and then i drove to the hospital as quickly as possible.  We live about 5minutes away if i was doing normal speed . We met the ambulance quite close to the hospital , apparently they must check it out anyway so my decision was right , they still had at least 4pm minutes to go .

Bill was airlifted to the hospital where the original surgery took place and subsequently spent several more days in the hospital. He is now under going radiation therapy to take care of the small cells that were not visible.

This journey had taught me so much , most importantly what is most important and the value of a loving family who came to be at our side during this very challenging time, i don't think i could have done it without them . I also learned i am tougher than i thought and can think quickly when time is of the essence.  I do think i had some heavenly guidance when i needed it most .

I don't have any quilting to share at the moment , as i am sure you understand sewing has taken a backseat for now .I did bring along some handwork this week though.

Thanks for stopping by please keep us in your thoughts  .

hugs Sheila

2019 , can it really be true ?

Yes I find it hard to believe we have now entered the year 2019 , how quickly 2018 flew by even though I wasn't having fun . I am happy to leave that year behind me and hope this year will be much improved .
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays with their families and friends and have now openly embraced this new year which is already into its second week .
So what have I been up to , hmm let me think , I have been sewing some , not as much as I'd like but doing as much as my poor body will allow .
I am working on the Bonnie Hunters mystery quilt but don't have a lot to share , just bits and pieces of hsts and four patch blocks , I am a long way from finished . I am also still working on the Moda Blockheads BOW, here are the most recent on my design wall

Now I have a confession to make , i have decided for my own sanity to only choose blocks I like or that won't take me forever to piece so my completed quilt will be different than the original but I am okay with that , better done than quitting . So I have replaced a couple of blocks so far with blocks I felt I could manage at this time .
I recently joined in a weekly challenge by Darlene D'eon on the Nova Scotia online quilters FB page . Why in the world would I take on something else when I have two quilts on the go you may be asking yourself . Well simple answer is I am easily convinced especially when it  involves using up the many many scraps I have seemed to accumulate , do you think they may breed at night ? It's actually a fun block and quick to make , another bonus plus it works really well as a leader and ender block . It is the jewel box block and mine will be truly scrappy . Here are four blocks,  yes I know we are only in week two but you know how it is , you get carried away or maybe that is just me .

Super scrappy indeed but hey it will keep someone nice and warm when it is finished .
Well that's all my news for now I really just wanted to touch base and wish each of you all the best for 2019 , let's make it out best year ever .

A little catch up

It has been a while and I won't guarantee I will be posting again real soon as life has a  mind of its own at the moment .  I will say life isn't always fair , far from it and I am going through a tough time at the moment so don't give up on me , I see I've lost some followers , who can blame them 😊
Even when the chips are down I try to continue to create , otherwise I'd be a total loss .
I guess since I was last here I haven't shared the fact my quilt The Splendid Sampler won the only award given at our quilt guild show , the viewers choice award, which to me is the most important as those who visited vote on their favorite quilt.

I have also finished the flimsy for On Ringo Lake a QAL with Bonnie Hunter as her mystery quilt . This was a lot of work and my first Bonnie mystery but I doubt it will be my last , it was really a lot of fun to make. The good news is it is now on the frames to start quilting next Tuesday,  yeah .

While on the topic of finishes I also finished the checkerboard quilt designed by Darlene of a Needle Pulling Thread.  This was to be a block of the week but I loved making them so much on my vintage Singer I kept right on going and then had it quilted by Lynda Campbell at Fiddle Stitches in Mabou . I really love how this turned out,  it is back in her shop now hoping someone will love it enough to buy it.

I've decided to join in the Moda Blockheads BOW , here are a few of my blocks so far .
I've made a few more since this photo was taken.  I am loving this so far .
I could show you more of  what I've been up to but I think that is enough for now.
Thanks for stopping by , I appreciate your visit .

Finishing school in session

I have come to realize that I work quite well under pressure . Yep our quilt show is coming up on the 26th of this month so I have been pushing myself to finish off a few projects that have been in the works for quite some time . One such project is the Quilt I mentioned in the previous post , my Henrietta whiskers quilt and I am happy to say it is complete , even has a label , amazed to say the least .
I am super happy as I love this design , BunnyHill designs have such adorable patterns . I don't even want to guess at how many years ago I started this I'm just happy to say it is done .
My second finish is the Let it Snow BOM by Buttermilk Basin  , another really fun project which started in 2016 . I have had the top done for a while so had been picking away at the quilting which probably should be a little more than I actually did but it is what it is .
My next finish has been sitting on my cabinet for a couple of months now , just waiting for inspiration as to how to finish it off and today I did the leap of faith and just added some birch trees and I am pleased .
I need a frame for it now 😊
One more for today , this pillow started taking form before Christmas,  if you look closely those are Christmas fabrics . This is a design by my friend Linda Smith of Scrapmaster fame . I had the top completed but just ran out of time to get it quilted so I  took this along to our retreat and I used my walking foot to quilt curves using a stencil my friend Sharon shared with me , it onky marked the corner so I used my trusty quilt bar attached to my walking foot as I was instructed by Linda Hubbard at a recent class . It was great fun once I got started .
This is just resting over a pillow as it is Very large at 20" square .I have since made a pillow form for it but hadn't done another photo . Thanks Linda for a great pattern.

Well that's it for me today , thanks as always for taking the time to stop by , it is a pleasure to have you visit .

FNWF'S Report

It is time to report on FNWF hosted by Cheryl . I did something a little different this time round , I spent my time handquilting a very old UFO that sadly has been on my quilt frame for over a year , I am almost afraid to  see what it will be like when it is removed . I love this little quilt Henrietta whiskers , such a fun quilt , designed by BunnyHill . I'd love to finish it for our upcoming quilt show but not sure that is possible but i will give it a whirl and see how it goes .

Last week this time I was at our guild retreat,  what a fabulous time we had , there were just 13 of us that took part and we each just worked on our own thing which I quite enjoy doing . Classes are nice but I really needed the unstructured do as I please time away . So what did I work on , well I didn't want to go unprepared so I took along a few projects . My initial plan was to work on the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt but I changed my mind , just felt it would be a little too stressful . I chose a log cabin runner pattern that I have made a few times and quite like and I need a new runner for my hutch so I got busy and cut all the components needed . Next was a kit I was so generously given by Annette  two years ago , it is a row by row from a quilt store called Haus of Stitches in Humboldt Saskatchewan . I also got this all cut and ready to stitch but couldn't wait to start so actually did all the stitching at home and only needed to quilt it and bind it . Another kit followed me there , a rather  old one , it is at least ten years old and is for a wall hanging . I traced off all the applique bits and got those ironed on but left the rest for the retreat . Now I know you are wondering if I actually finished anything , well yes I did finish the log cabin runner , even the binding got sewn down .
This is a very large runner so I had to use the floor trick to get it all in the photo . The row by row was almost completed , I had three quarters of the quilting done and obviously ran out of steam as I started sewing down the backing onto itself 😥

I finished it when I got home 😁
And here is the applique project which isn't finished , I have all the applique stitched on and the borders added but just haven't gotten back to it yet .
I did change the background fabric for this project , the fabric included was a deep beige with tiny flowers which I just didn't care for .
So overall I feel I was pretty productive along with lots of talking and laughing and good food and a little sleeping too .
Thanks for stopping by today , so nice to see you .

Postcards and a flimsy

Good evening ,it was a gorgeous spring day today , sunny and very comfortable temperatures . Early this morning it was a spectacular frost covered scene out the window,  everything just sparkled .
I recently taught a postcard workshop in Tatamagouche a lovely town about an hour from here . It wasn't a big class but those present were very enthusiastic and raring to make some creative cards .

This is Carol and myself at the end of the day.
Here is the class minus a couple who had to leave early.  Such a lovely group of ladies and very creative too .
I brought along lots of postcards I have received over the years in swaps which they really loved and It was the perfect inspiration .
A few of the postcards created

I have been working on some scrappy checkerboard blocks that were inspired by a weekly challenge by Darlene of a Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop .  I enjoyed making these blocks so much I kept right on going and made this quilt top . It still needs some borders which I am still thinking on .
I am proud to say this was completely sewn on my vintage Singer machine which I just love to use .
I could share some postcards I have made recently but will save them for another post.
Thanks for stopping by it is always a pleasure to have tour visit .

FNSI Report

Well I know I have been missing for quite some time and sometimes life just gets in the way but let's not dwell on the negative . I decided to join in on FNSI hosted by Wendy
At our guild we have a UFO challenge and each year we sign up and pay $1 for each item we would like to finish up ,so this year I have three to try to finish before our deadline . When we finish an item we must share it at our show and tell at the  meeting then it is checked off our list and our name then goes in the hat to win all the money collected from those participating . I have never won the money but it has been a great incentive to finish up some long overdue projects . I am sure my list could have been longer but i think at this point I will do well to  finish the three on my list.  So what does that have to do with FNSI , that is simple , I worked on the oldest of those three projects a crazy quilt that I started at least 7 but probably closer to 8 years ago . I had the top in one of my drawers and each time I would come across it I would say to myself you really must get this finished . I took it out the other day and decided in order to finish it I would need to add another row to make it a little larger , I wanted it to be lap size. This meant I would need an extra six blocks so I got busy and made them then attached that new row to the existing rows and a quilt top was born 😊
I used a very thick flannel backing to make it extra cosy then simply stitched in the ditch between the blocks . I sewed the binding on Friday  and that  evening I sat and sewed it down to the back . I am quite pleased with how it turned out and I know it will get plenty of use .

In January I taught a class at our guild on curved piecing , this is my second time doing this workshop and it is always popular especially once the others see the masterpieces created by the students . I had a full class so it was a busy time but I really enjoyed it even if I am not a born teacher .  Of course when you teach you must have samples and ways to explain the process so I brought along a piece I prepared especially for this class and I just recently finished it .
Sorry for the not so great picture , the sun was streaming in and I couldn't get a decent picture without the reflection showing up on the picture . I have another one that was also started for this class but I have a little more I'd like to add then I can share it .
There is probably lots more I could share but I think that is it for today . Thanks to those who have stuck by me even in my absence .
Thanks for stopping by today ,  hope you have a terrific day .

Christmas is just around the corner

Can you believe this year is almost over and Christmas is just two weeks away , how did that all happen ?
November was not a great month for me ,  first off my knee was acting up so I had to have a cortisone shot , then my go to machine a 20 year old pfaff decided it had enough , I cried a little that day , I love that machine then just a few days after that we had a flood . We decided to change our internet provider and the young chap who was doing the installation hit a waterline in the wall and there was water everywhere . I don't know who panicked more , me or him . After a phone call to my hubby we found the shut off valve which was a huge relief . It totally ruined the flooring in one room , the other areas have ceramic  so no damage . However we did have a restoration company come and had dehumidifiers and huge fans going all that weekend . So needless to say I am glad November is over.
Now did I do any sewing last month , yes of course , that keeps me sane or close 😉 . My first accomplishment was completing the Splendid Sampler quilt top , it will take a while before it is quilted as I plan on having it hand quilted.  This photo shows it before I added the last two borders but I don't have a more recent photo to share .
I added a narrow red border then a wide blue border which really compliments the rest of the quilt . I am so glad I stuck it out and finished this top , there were times when I thought I needed my head examined lol .
I have been busy making Christmas gifts but haven't photographed too many of those but here are a couple of pillows I made for my granddaughters using some blocks I had made a few years back as part of a Bom with Raspberry Rabbits .

I think the girls will like them , they are such cute little rabbits .
I have started the mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter , hmm, am I crazy or what , perhaps so , but it is something I have wanted to do each year she announces her mystery so this year I decided was the year to have a go . Now there is a ton of work in these quilts I have discovered but I am okay with that as it isn't a race and I don't plan on keeping up each week although I may have tried if it wasn't so close to Christmas. I did manage to get the first clue as well as the second clue completed but when the third clue came out on Friday I decided it was in the best interest of my health to just leave that until after all my Christmas sewing is done.
Here is my stack of the first clue , I guess I didn't take one of the second one so will share that later on,I will just tell you it involves a lot of flying geese blocks  . I am being really good and only using what fabrics I have on hand and the best part is I am using some realllllly old fabrics that have been around since making dresses for my granddaughters.  This will be a very scrappy quilt , my favorite kind .

I am doing a curved piecing workshop in January so I decided I should refresh myself on this technique and I stitched up a couple of landscapes.  Here is one to show you what I did .
Such fun 😊
Well thanks for the visit,  I hope your holiday preparations are coming along well and you are enjoying the process .

Friday night with Friends

Time to report my FNWF happenings. On Thursday evening I stitched along with my friends in the Southern Hemisphere and finished off this little stitchery which will become a postcard.
Then on Friday evening I worked on this stitchery that I started last year around this time . Not too much left to do now .
Sorry it is still wrinkled from the hoop .

Have you ever had a situation that you just had to do something even though it wasn't your colours or even your style . Well this happened to me , I had bought some bits and pieces from a friends estate sale at our guild and in the bag was some four patch blocks and these pink polka dot pieces sewn on each side of a beige piece . What was her intention , hmm , no real idea but after much thought and contemplation I came across a photo of a block and the light bulb went on . I think this was Carols plan for these pieces or I hope it was . I have been sewing these together as leaders and enders off and on this summer and found I had created 13 blocks.  I chose the best 12 of those and made this quilt top after searching through my stash for borders and sashings . I was happy to find some fabrics I felt matched these blocks fairly well so proceeded to get it all sewn together and here is the result.  I hope Carol would be pleased.  It is the size of a lap quilt .
I actually quite like it now and I think it is good to sew fabrics you don't normally use it makes you think outside the box a little .
At the moment I am busy sewing the Splendid sampler blocks from last year together , well actually I have that part completed plus I have sewn all the sashing strips together for between the rows so the next job is sewing those to the rows of blocks . Wow , this is a ton of work !
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop by to see what others have been stitching on for FNWF , Thanks to Cheryl for hosting us .

I'm still here

Good afternoon , it is a sunny beautiful day here on the East Coast , we sure can't complain about the weather , it has been fabulous .
On the 13/14th of October I had the opportunity to share my love of quilting at the Fibre Arts Festival in Amherst along with my partners in crime , Linda Smith of Scrapmaster , Lesley Carruthers of the Cuddle Quilter and Karen Roy of KaHolly fame . I can't think of three other ladies I would have more fun with .

A photo of the three of us , Karen,  Lesley,  Linda and myself  standing in front of one of our displays at the Town Hall in Amherst.  We had a change in venues so our space was limited however we made the best of it and I think we had a very nice display.  We talked to lots of people from all over , including a lady from Alaska,  one from Australia and another from BC so that made it extra special . We already have plans to return next year . It really was a fun weekend .
Before I headed off to  Amherst I got busy finishing up my RR we had done as a group over the winter months . I had been procrastinating as to quilting this wonderful quilt made by my friends . I was unsure how to even tackle such a job and there wasn't time to handquilt it so I did what any smart girl would do , I asked for help.  I emailed Fiona of BubzRugz and asked her if she could give me suggestions on how I could quilt this quilt . I sent her a photo of the quilt and being the sweet person she is she sent me a few drawings as to how she might tackle this . Well I have to admit when I first  looked at her drawings I said to myself,  oh yeah sure I can't do feathers but you know what I can , they may not be perfect and certainly not as nice as what Fiona would do but they are done and they are mine lol
Now I will admit I didn't do all that Fiona had in her drawings as my skill level is pretty minimal and I wanted to use the walking foot where I could so my orange peel is all done with a walking foot , oh I know i could do it FM but no time to frog stitch so I went with the safe method . Want to see what I did , don't look too close , it is far from perfect.
I will even be brave enough to share the backside .
I was quite pleased it was nice and flat,  no puckers and all quilted , yeah ! Thanks Fiona for your help , I really appreciate it .
I also did something else I had never done before , I had gotten my snowball quilt back from Lynda Campbell and she did a great job of the quilting and my time was short so I knew I didn't have time to sit for several evenings and hand sew down a binding which is my normal method so......I did it by machine , something that normally takes me days took me less than one hour , how great is that.I don't have a full picture of it but here is a corner so you can see the quilting and the binding
Sorry not the best picture but you get the idea  and it just shows you can teach an old dog new tricks 😉
Talking about old dogs , unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our old dog Luke , a most faithful,  loyal , wonderful dog we had the privilege to have in our lives for almost 12 years.  We miss him terribly,  just not the same without him around .
This is one of my favorite pictures of Luke,  he is a labradoodle and I would highly recommend this breed , a perfect family dog . Will I get another dog , that has yet to be determined , my heart says yes but my body says maybe not .
I am doing some secret sewing at the moment and I can't even share a peak as the person who owns these fabrics just might be lurking . You see our guild is doing a brown bag challenge , how does that work , well we put 3/4 fqs or fabrics of our choice in a brown paper bag and then we must staple it so not even a thread is poking out and there is to be no identification what so ever on the bag or inside the bag . We could type up a note with suggestions as to how we want our enclosed fabrics used but not hand written as that might be a clue . It's a fun little challenge and it was a tad challenging coming up with a way to use the fabrics I am working with and now I have to hope the person who owns them will like what I have done . I promise to share once it is it is given  back along with the project I receive . We are also doing a postcard exchange and tomorrow I will help those who haven't made one before , that should be fun .
Well folks that's it for me for now , sorry I am so slack at blogging but life has a way of keeping me busy .
Thanks for taking the time to stop by .

Is it Christmas yet?

I know it has been a very long time since I posted and all I can say is life has been more than tough lately but one must keep the faith that it will all be well in the end . I keep saying to myself "This too shall Pass ". So far that hasn't worked 😥

Anyway on a brighter note I have done a little sewing and have a few small finishes to share . The first project I would like to share is this Christmas wall hanging I started as a Let's Book it project along with Sharon last year and last week ,we  finished off the quilting  at the church (Holy Name Quilters) and I couldn't be more pleased . I sewed the binding and label on shortly afterwards and here is what it looks like.
This is simply called Merry Christmas and was designed by Jenelle Kent . I will be proud to hang this on my wall for the Christmas season this year .
Sticking with the Christmas theme, I turned this little block into a mini hanging and I love it too .
Sorry I don't have the designer to share , this was part of a four part Sal and I will check to see if I still have that info and share it . Here is the link for where I got this pattern , it is called Winter Wandering .
Again we shall remain in the christmas mode as I made this little wool on cotton mini tree skirt . It is really quite cute but took me for ever to get all the applique done by hand .
Since taking this picture I did  topstitching around the edges which I find finishes it off much better . I found this pattern in an older copy of Primitive Quilts magazine , winter 2012.

This next piece I'd like to share was actually drawn by my 8 yr.old granddaughter this past Christmas.  She turned over a sheet from a large desk calender and within minutes had this drawn out to share with me . I tucked it away with the intention of recreating it for her for Christmas this year and thankfully I have it all completed .
I had such fun making this and I think Elise will be super happy . She loves being an artist 💖
And lastly my friend Karen of KaHolly quilts asked me to make a Raggedy Anne doll for a gift . It couldn't have happened at a better time, I didn't feel much like sewing and this type of sewing just brings a smile to your face .
I think she is rather cute all decked out in her floral dress and apron and just look at that head of red  hair lol .
I don't know if anyone else has had any issues with blogger lately but I tried on more than one occasion to leave comments and it simply wouldn't let me , so frustrating!
Thanks for stopping by I hope I won't be such a stranger in the future.
 Hugs Sheila
